Option Paralysis is the fourth studio album by American mathcore band The Dillinger Escape Plan, released on March 23, 2010. After having fulfilled their contract with Relapse Records, the band released the album through Party Smasher Inc. their own new imprint in collaboration with French record label Season of Mist. It marks The Dillinger Escape Plan's first release to feature Billy Rymer on drums, since Gil Sharone left the band in September 2008 due to the frequent touring schedule and to focus. How to refold The Dillinger Escape Plan's album Option , Option Paralysis is hardly an identity crisis, an album that jogs and then sprints while remaining perfectly balanced through each new musical tangent. For weeks now, Farewell, Mona Lisa has been all but a tease of possibilities, but more importantly a track that questioned what direction that Option Paralysis would take. The Dillinger Escape Plan don't make any major stylistic leaps on this, their fourth album. In some ways, it's a return to the shouty, spastic post-hardcore of their full-length debut, Calculating Infinity, abandoning the electronic freakouts of 2007's Ire Works while retaining some of the melodic elements, even if there's nothing here as almost radio-friendly as Milk Lizard
