The Fall. 458489 A-Sides. Bypassing their edgy, early singles and concentrating on their artier, more eclectic work of the mid- and late '80s, 458489 A-Sides encapsulates nearly all of the Fall's many attributes. All of the singles on A-Sides are culled from the era when Brix Smith was in the band, arguably the band's most cohesive and rewarding years. Drawing from their strongest albums - The Wonderful and Frightening World of the Fall, This Nation's Saving Grace, Bend Sinister, The Frenz Experiment - A-Sides offers an excellent introduction to the Fall. The one permanent fixture amidst the Fall's ever-changing line-up was Mark E. Smith 1957 2018. One album track Dice Man from Dragnet is also included, and a CD reissue in 2000 adds two tracks from the various artists compilation Short Circuit: Live at the Electric Ballroom, from the same time. 2002's Early Singles drops Dice Man and adds three singles recorded for Kamera Records in 1981 and 1982, with their B-sides. Of 458489 A Sides there is so much to say of so little of consequence. Anti-band of continually variable personnel, always different, always the same as John Peel said. A singles collection from most bands commercial zenith is sufficient to present the essence if not the definitive flavour of their oeuvre. 458489 A Sides is a roll of the die, an upturned face never revealed again in the subsequent 30 years of The Fall and not really intimated prior to 84. In that respect, 458489 A Sides is essential Fall. In that respect, Live At The Witch Trials is essential Fall. In that respect, Sub-Ling. The Fall 458489 A Sides UK CD album. Track Listings. Even though there was no download code, I personally am not too bothered, the album itself is beautifully packaged, the original sleeve, I'm unaware if the original had the colourful inner sleeve that this comes with, and of course the sumptuous white vinyl. Sounds really good, no issues with sound quality. It's a great compilation of what sounded like a happy period for Mark E Smith and The Fall, the Brix years, great songs, always great lyrics from the great man. He will be sadly missed but this is a good addition to anyone's Fall collection. Read more. One person found this h. Compilation album by The Fall. Oh Brother. No Bulbs 3. Rollin' Dany.
