It's hard to imagine what the kids must have made of the Human Beinz' first album when it was released back in 1968. The band was riding high on the charts with their feedback-enhanced cover of the Isley Brothers' bold statement of dance prowess, Nobody But Me, and folks who bought their subsequent LP must have been expecting 30 minutes of similar high-swagger garage rock. After three singles of cover songs on smaller labels, The Human Beinz signed with Capitol Records, who misspelled the group's name on their contract, leaving out the g Beingz originally. Sorry I don't have any extra albums that I can give you. I'm hoping that maybe you can do something with these pics. The Human Beinz did two albums for Capitol. The second Album was entitled Evolutions. It features all original songs, no covers. There again, we didn't have a lot of control over the material. Quite possibly THE album of the 60's, sure others were more popular, but if you want to hear a concise, tight band of the 60's look no further. These guys know how to play their instruments. The title track, originally released by the Isley Brothers, is one of the sweetest tunes, still sounds good in 2000. I'm not sure what happened to The Human Beinz but I heared the lead singer got drafted. I'm not sure about that but I know if they could have stayed together they would have been at the top of the sales charts in the late 60's. If you don't own this album or have never heard this band you should buy this CD. You will enjoy it. Read more
