The album's recordings started early in the summer of 1999 in a cottage on the Swedish island of Tjörn. Their self-titled debut contains the primordial essence of what they would go on to do in Deep Cuts and Silent Shout, and is in my opinion a more challenging listen than either or those albums, but not so off-putting Shaking the Habitual. Karin's vocals are as always, amazing and completely captivating regardless of how much manipulation they're put through.
