Album

Changes is the ninth studio album by the Monkees. The album was issued after Michael Nesmith's exit from the band, leaving only Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones to fulfill the recording contract they had signed in the mid-1960s. Changes was their last new album for Colgems Records and the group's last album of all new material until 1987's Pool It. The album's title had originally been considered for the Monkees' movie released in 1968, and a song with that title cowritten by Jones with Steve Pitts had. Changes is the ninth and final Colgems studio album released by the Monkees. Issued in June 1970 as COS-119 after the departure of Mike Nesmith from the group, it featured the Monkees as a duo-Micky Dolenz and Davy Jones-with little collaboration between the two. Seven of the album's twelve selections were written by Jeff Barry, most with co-writers Andy Kim or Bobby Bloom, including both sides of the single, Oh My My bw I Love You Better. Ned Albright and Steven Soles contributed two songs. Songs in album The Monkees - Changes 1970. The Monkees - Oh My My. The Monkees - Ticket On A Ferry Ride. The Monkees - You're So Good To Me. The Monkees - All Alone In The Dark. Calling their final album Changes made sense for the Monkees. Mike Nesmith had just departed, leaving only Mickey Dolenz and Davy Jones to hold down the fort. The other big change was that after years of struggling to have their voices as songwriters and musicians heard, the remaining duo basically gave up and let the producers take over. The musical reins were given to legendary producer Jeff Barry who had just come from a huge success with the Archies and he and his cronies like Bobby Bloom wrote and performed the songs. Apart from one track written by Dolenz the goofy country rock novelt. Album 1970 15 Songs. By 1970, Nesmith had left the group, leaving solely the duo of Dolenz and Jones. As Micky stated, We were mainly fulfilling a contractual obligation to the record company- that's what Changes is all about. Indeed, the freedom granted to the group on their previous album was anything but the case on what would be the final album released under the name The Monkees. Still, the liner notes make for some interesting reading about the mind set during this time, and Changes does have some good. Ticket on a Ferry Ride. Автор: Bobby Bloom - Jeff Barry.
