The Pooh Sticks were an indie pop band from Swansea, Wales recording between 1988 and 1995. They were notable for their jangly melodiousness and lyrics gently mocking the indie scene of the time such as on On Tape, Indiepop Ain't Noise Pollution and I Know Someone Who Knows Someone Who Knows Alan McGee Quite Well. However, for me the 'Great White Wonder' will always be their finest hour. My two personal favourites are 'sweet baby James' and 'the rhythm of love', just very catchy tunes. However, the album doesn't have a week moment in it. Even the sleeve notes are perfect, as Trudi Tambourine takes us through how the album came around, influences etc. Anything the 'Pooh Sticks' were ever influenced by are given a mention.
