Rolled Gold: The Very Best of the Rolling Stones is a compilation album by The Rolling Stones released without the band's authorisation by its former label Decca Records in 1975. It is a double album that reached No. 7 on the UK chart and was a strong seller over the years. All tracks are written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards except where noted. In 2007, the original collection was expanded to 40 songs from the original's 28 tracks. Released in the UK on 12 November 2007, it is an expanded. Among the myriad Rolling Stones' compilations of similar material, Rolled Gold stands out as a particularly solid collection. It brings together popular Stones' tunes from the bands humble beginnings to the end of the sixties. The band had no say in the packaging of this album and it was only released in the United Kingdom despite that it was a big hit and perennial seller. Rolled Gold: The Very Best of the Rolling Stones Q&A. The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962. The first stable line-up consisted of bandleader Brian Jones guitar, harmonica, and keyboards, Mick Jagger lead vocals, harmonica, Keith Richards guitar, vocals, Bill Wyman bass, Charlie Watts drums, and Ian Stewart piano. Stewart was removed from the official line-up in 1963 but continued to work with the band as a contracted musician until his death in 1985. The band's primary songwriters, Jagger and Richards, assumed leadership after Andrew Loog Oldham became the group's manager. Jones lef read more. Let us know what you think of the website. Everything is wrong since me and my baby parted All day long I'm walkin' 'cause I couldn't get my car started Laid off from my job and I can't afford to check it I wish somebody'd come along and run into it and wreck it. Come on, since me and my baby parted Come on, I can't get started Come on, I can't afford to check I wish somebody'd come along and run into it and wreck it. It is the evening of the day I sit and watch the children play Smiling faces I can see But not for me I sit and watch As tears go by. My riches can't buy everything I want to hear the children sing All I hear is the sound Of rain falling on the ground I sit and watch as tears go by. After nearly imploding at the start of the previous decade, Metallica poked fun at their own fragility with Hardwiredto Self-Destruct, a double album of confident, cocksure metal ragers that prove theyve never been more stable. They bookended it with two of their best songs in 25 years, the punky, three-minute invective Hardwired and the grinding techno-horror thrasher Spit Out the Bone, and they filled the rest of it with punishing riffs, pummeling drums and pessimistic lyrics - in other words, its a perfect Metallica record. By the time the Rolling Stones began calling themselves the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the late '60s, they had already staked out an impressive claim on the title.
