Album

Live Licks is a double live album by The Rolling Stones and was released in 2004. Coming six years after No Security, this ninth official Rolling Stones full-length live release captures performances from the band's year-long 20022003 Licks Tour in support of their career-spanning retrospective Forty Licks. Of the special guests taking part, Sheryl Crow appears on Honky Tonk Women, while Solomon Burke sings on his own Everybody Needs Somebody to Love, which The Rolling Stones originally covered. Live Licks. David Fricke. I once asked guitarist Keith Richards why most Rolling Stones live records are such a drag, never as hot and vivid as the shows Ive seen. Even the best of the lot, Get Yer Ya-Yas Out, was punched up with overdubs. You gotta be there, he said with that pirates laugh. You may not need this if you own last years set of full-show DVDs, Four Flicks, but Live Licks is the Stones first live album since Ya-Yas to earn a spot next to my best soundboard and broadcast boots. One good reason: a bright, hard mix that nails the Stones matured vigor onstage, even in the warhorses packed on Disc One. The Rolling Stones have just announced Extra Licks a series of special past performances that will be streaming worldwide, every Sunday exclusively on YouTube Starting this Sunday May 03 at 8pm BST, 12pm PT, 3pm ET, the six-part weekly series will feature bonus footage from some of the bands most memorable concerts around the world, available digitally for the first time Set a reminder for the premiere and join us here.
