Album
Sabri Brothers initially started their career by performing at Sufi Shrines and private gatherings, Their first recording was officially released in 1958 under the EMI Pakistan label, was the Urdu qawwali titled Mera Koi Nahi Hai Tera Siwa There Is No For Me One But You, which later appeared in the 1965 Pakistani film Ishq-e-Habib. They recorded an album in UK which was released as the album Ya Habib in 1990. Ya Habib consists of four long songs, each combining powerful, sensitive, often improvised vocals with rhythmic percussion, thudding tabla and mesmeric harmonium drones. One of the finest Quawwali groups in Pakistan is the Sabri Brothers. In contrast to secular Pakistani pop music, Ya Habib concerns itself only with spiritual matters. Whether singing or playing the harmonium, Haji Ghulam Farid Sabri and Haji Maqbool Ahmed Sabri spare no passion on the extended pieces heard on this enriching CD. Highly recommended. These are some photos I took in the Scottsdale and the Flagstaff Area with my disposable camera. And a lovely song about World Peace. an interesting fact. Sabri Brothers Format: Audio CD. Please retry. This album is a standout even by their own exalted standards. Unlike other qawwali performers, the Sabri Brothers don't sacrifice their hypnotic, lengthy delivery for the studio. The first track lasts for a for nearly 27 minutes, and the rest take their cue from it. A highlight is the unique metallic percussion of the chirya tarang and the amazingly energetic dholak of Abdul Karim. Please vote. Add album to Cart. Live In Moscow 2003.
