Unfortunately, the Sandmen decided to record an album, and the underdeveloped country and '60s garage rock of Western Blood smashes the idealized image a listener would've had if the band quickly disappeared after House in the Country. Vocalist Allan Vegenfeldt has faithfully duplicated the unpolished snarl of his '60s proto-punk heroes, especially on I'm Accusing You, but the lyrics are cliched and forgettable. This is the 1989 US & international marketed 2nd version of Western Blood. It features an 11-track tracklist very different from the original 12-track Danish 1988 release. Only 7 songs from the 1st version of Western Blood are included on this, and two of these in new mixes by Paul Lani. The other 4 are new songs and recordings made after the 1988 release.
