Instruments include a 50 gallon oil drum, steel bars, chains, Roland JD-50, some cheap Kawaii synth, 2-track reel to reel, cart machines, shortwave radio, cd player & unsuspecting preachers. These tapes are an important part of who I am; it's my wish that this re-release inspires others to cleanse their spirits in a baptism of NOISE, FIRE & HATE!

It was recorded in London with Roxy Music's guitarist Phil Manzanera producing the album. Four of the songs on the album were reworked versions of songs from their 1975 debut album Mental Notes. Two other songs on the album had been first recorded during the Mental Notes sessions, but left off and re-recorded for Second Thoughts.
