Sonora Pine II. Subtlety and melancholia are central themes on Sonora Pine II. The trio recorded the album with Kevin Coultas in their hometown of Louisville, KY, in late 1996 and early 1997. Chicago's Quarterstick Records released the disc later in 1997. The Sonora Pine was an American indie rock band founded by Tara Jane O'Neil. O'Neil formed the band after the breakup of Rodan in 1994, in which she played bass. After moving to New York City, she began working with guitarist Sean Meadows, formerly of Lungfish, and added violinist Samara Lubelski for local shows.
