The Tonight Show Band with Doc Severinsen is an album that won the Grammy Award for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Performance in 1986. The album consists of big band songs arranged by Tommy Newsom, Bill Holman, and Dick Lieb performed by members of the band from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. The band is conducted by trumpeter Doc Severinsen. Doc Severinsen conductor, flugelhorn, trumpet. Tommy Newsom clarinet, flute, alto saxophone, arranger. Not only did the band gain air time with its playing, but it was a foil for Carson's jokes. The role of collective straight man did not in any way hinder the ensemble from being an exciting champion of dynamic big-band swing. The chairs are filled with veterans of topflight big bands and studio work as well. Songs in album Doc Severinsen - The Tonight Show Band, Vol. II 1987. Doc Severinsen - In The Mood. The Tonight Show Band with Doc Severinsen - Doc Severinsen. At any rate, the Band on this show was very tight and the musicianship evident here and on the first album is outstanding. The arrangements here are for the most part very good. Stand out tracks. well, I believe the whole darn album is excellent. There's never been a better big band than the Tonight Show Orchestra, whether under Skitch Henderson or Doc Severisen. They hired the best musicians, and played the greatest charts. Check out Vol. 1 as well, and the Skitch Henderson albums for the Tonight Show. He wrote great charts, too. Read more. II 릴리스에 대한 크레딧, 리뷰, 트랙을 보고 쇼핑해보세요.
