Album
Thelonious Monk Trio is an album by American jazz pianist and composer Thelonious Monk. It also contains the earliest recorded versions of the jazz standards Blue Monk and Bemsha Swing. Summerish - Thelonious Monk, Thelonious Monk Trio. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Any Thelonious Monk album that kicks off with a seven-minute version of Blue Monk is worth listening to. Backed alternately by bassists Percy Heath and Gary Mapp and drummers Art Blakey and Max Roach, Monk unleashes his idiosyncratic piano lines against a spare backdrop. Beautifully rendered, the opening piece is a highlight of the album, oddly combining disharmonic riffs within a melodic and very memorable structure. It's followed, surprisingly, by a rather tepid version of Just a Gigolo, more lounge than jazz in execution. Thelonious Monk - Thelonious Monk Trio 1954. To favorites 3 Download album. Listen album. The harmlessly titled Thelonious Monk Trio is Monk's first studio album proper, coming off the heels of his two Genius of Modern Music compilations Volume One released in '51, Volume Two a year later for Blue Note. It's been re-released countless times-sometimes as Monk's Mood, but usually with its original 1954 title intact-on different formats, once in a while with its tracklist shuffled
