Astronauts & Heretics, released in 1992, was the fourth studio album by Thomas Dolby. It was Dolby's last studio album until 2011's A Map Of The Floating City. Astronauts & Heretics contained the singles I Love You Goodbye, Close But No Cigar and Silk Pyjamas. The album was reasonably popular in the UK and was Dolby's last album to be released on vinyl. Only knowing Thomas Dolby from his quirky 80's singles, I recently bought a secondhand copy of his Retrospectacle compilation and found the lovely final track kept skipping despite cleaning. So I decided to get that track by buying it's parent album and see how that experience compared to a compilation. As they weren't produced at one point in time often these collections don't flow properly.
