Album
Vheissu pronounced vee-sue is the fourth studio album by American rock band Thrice. Released on October 18, 2005 through Island Records, the album spawned one charting single, Image of the Invisible, which peaked at No. 24 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart. Following the release of The Illusion of Safety in 2002, the group were the subject of a major-label bidding war. They eventually signed to Island Records, who released The Artist in the Ambulance in 2003. Two of its singles, All That's. No copyright infringement intended. All rights go to Thrice and Island Records. Thrice's fourth studio album Released: October 18, 2005 Label: is a milestone album for Thrice, released October 17, 2005. At the time, Thrice was still with Island Records. Previous to this album, Thrices sound was a mixture of hardcore and punk. The band had just toured for a year and half for The Artist in the Ambulance, which was written and recorded on a tight deadline, and was ready for a change. The albums title Vheissu comes from a place name in Thomas Pynchons novel, V. Dustin Kensrue interpreted it to be a term having to do with identity, even printing the German sound-alike phrase Wie heisst du in the album art. Vheissu Q&A. Thrice - Vheissu review: Vheissu stands among some of the best releases of the 21st century and only leaves even more places for Thrice to go. The albums complexity and denseness all prove that Thrice has the most potential of any band in the world right now, a band that can change the landscape of everything known about modern rock music. Immersing into Vheissu takes a completely focused yet still open mind because there is so much to appreciate. Luckily, Thrice is willing to break the listener in easily. Image of the Invisible picks up where Thrice left off with Artist in the Ambulance. Vheissu, 2005. Between the End and Where We Lie, 03:55. The Earth Will Shake, 04:28. Atlantic, 04:00.
