Death metal quartet Vanhelgd have risen from the Swedish underground to reveal their latest album, Deimos Sanktuarium. Clocking in at seven dark, suffocating songs, Deimos Sanktuarium maintains an oppressive atmosphere throughout its duration mid-tempo riffs churn, occasionally melting into faster, tremolo-picked sections. Topped off with eerie melodies and murky production, Deimos Sanktuarium drags you into death metals thickest, most-lightless territory and spits you back out with the fading notes of Här finns ingen nåd. Deimos Sanktuarium will be dragged into the light on October 12 tha. DEIMOS SANKTUARIUM out in October, pre-order now at EU only or here is a video of our . CD - Dark Descent Records 6227076. A review of Deimos Sanktuarium by Vanhelgd, available October 12th worldwide via Pulverised Records and Dark Descent Records. Much like their previous outings, Vanhelgd crafted Deimos Sanktuarium to sound like it could have been the spiritual successor to Eucharists last album. That means gritty guitar tones, tremolo overlays, and pained roars of anguish. Vanhelgd supplies the occasional funereal passage and some ritualistic undertones for good measure. Crushing riffs fill in every square inch of Deimos Sanktuarium, with little consideration afforded to fluff. Also of note is that part of the material is delivered in Swedish, something Vanhelgd does on each album
