If you think soul music just rolled over and died in the face of disco, you need to check this disc out. Though the sound had changed, soul was still alive. The Natural High compilation series certainly isn't going to rewrite soul music history, but it does bring to light enough top-drawer material to demand new consideration of the companies' '70s output - it's a shame this material never earned any real commercial fame, because it's consistently wonderful stuff. Story Volume 1. There's a couple of filler tracks on here hence my 4 stars rating, on a final note the Natural High title of this CD forms part of the lyrics on the last track the Pieces Of A Dream song 'Warm Weather'.
