PD-2-6235. film, i have a number of copies of this 2 lp set from various countries around the world but for rsd 2017 they really nailed it by pressing both records on thick parka green vinyl, the inner sleeves are replicated down to perfection as per the original 1979 release, this was released for rsd in THE UK AND EUROPE not the us so. The film adaptation of the Who's rock opera Quadrophenia couldn't have been different than the film of Tommy. Where that was garish, star-studded, and wrong-headed, Franc Roddam's Quadrophenia was lean, incisive, and nearly brilliant, thanks in no small part to his gritty, matter-of-fact approach and a searing, star-making performance by Phil Daniels. The original 1973 Qudrophenia album is my favourite Who album, and is also amongst my top ten albums of all time, so I had put off buying the soundtrack to the film for quite a while, thinking that the songs would be merely shortened versions of those that I already own - big mistake Listening to the versions on the soundtrack is like revisiting an old friend - they're still essentially the same, but they're also different.
