Die Organization Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) setzt sich für eine Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen krebskranker Jugendlicher ein. Allein in Grossbritannien erkranken jeden Tag sechs junge Menschen an Krebs.
Die Idee für diese jährliche stattfindende Konzertwoche in der Royal Albert Hall stammt aus der Feder des TCT-Gründungsmitglieds und Frontmannes von >>The Who<< Roger Daltrey und entwickelte sich rasch zu einem der begehrtesten Musikevents.
Ziel der Shows ist es, Aufmerksamkeit zu wecken und dringend benötigte Gelder zu sammeln, um damit spezielle TCT-Stationen in Krankenhäusern zu errichten. In diesen, besonders auf die bedürfnisse krebskranker Teenager zugeschnittenen Einrichtungen, werden die Lebenserwartungen der jungen Patienten sichtbar gesteigert.
