Album
An Electric Storm is the debut album by electronic music group White Noise. The band recorded the first two tracks with the intention of producing a single only, but were then persuaded by Chris Blackwell of Island Records to create an entire album. At this point the group had established the Kaleidophon Studio in a flat in Camden Town, London, and spent a year creating the next four tracks. The last track was put together in one day when Island demanded the completion of the album. Although not very. All rights belong to Island Records Ltd. If the video needs to be removed, Ill do it. An Electric Storm. White Noise. An Electric Storm is justly renowned among techno boffins as one of the first albums to fuse pop and electronic music before the advent of the Moog synthesizer. But you don't have to be versed in the language of sine waves and oscillators to enjoy this mostly delightful and hugely inventive album. For although the White Noise were almost exclusively composed of virtuoso knob twiddlers and tape splicers moonlighting from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, luckily they were no slouc. White Noise's landmark 1969 album An Electric Storm might not the first thing most people think of when considering 1960s music, but there are few records anywhere tied more intrinsically to the moment of their creation. Recorded in the months immediately prior to the widespread availability of keyboard-based synthesizers, An Electric Storm might be one of the most painstakingly crafted electronic recordings of all time. White Noise were one of the first bands, along with the equally inventive Silver Apples, to mix psychedelic pop music with experimental electronic music, managing to create An Electric Storm in 1969, a totally unique album that is truly completely ahead of its time, much more than most, if not all, albums described as being so. White Noise at the time consisted of David Vorhaus, who continues to record under the name today, Paul Lytton on percussion, three vocalists and Brian Hodgson and Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop
