Gold is a compilation album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on April 25, 2006. The Gold compilation is a repackaging of the two 1997 Rush compilation albums Retrospective I and Retrospective II, with the exception of the third track of Retrospective I Something for Nothing, which has been removed and replaced by Working Man last track, 14 on the first disc. Gold Rush titled Gold Rush: Alaska for the first season is a reality television series that airs on Discovery and its affiliates worldwide. The series follows the placer gold mining efforts of various family-run mining companies, mostly in the Klondike region of Dawson City, Yukon, Canada. In its 10th season as of early 2020, prior seasons also included mining efforts in South America and western North America. In the 15 months between the release of Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and After the Gold Rush, Neil Young issued a series of recordings in different styles that could have prepared his listeners for the differences between the two LPs. Rick Ness sticks to his word and finishes his rookie season well over his 1,000 oz goal. With a strong finish, his team breaks a Gold Rush record for The Gold Rush. Langdon Winner. On the album the band never really gets behind the songs and Young himself has trouble singing many of them. Set before the buying public before it was done, this pie is only half-baked. Southern Man is a good example. As a composition, it is possibly one of the best things Neil Young has ever written. In recent appearances with Crosby, Stills and Nash, the piece has had an overwhelmingly powerful impact on audiences. But the recording of Southern Man on After The Gold Rush fulfills very little of this promise. By todays standards, the ensemble playing is sloppy and disconnected.
