Alpha 11. Creamcheese Siren is a collection of Zion Train originals and remixes from the first batch of Universal Egg 12 singles. Praying Mantis is a remix of a Kissing the Pink song called 'The Dalai Lama Loves You All' and 'Galaxy' and 'Alpha' are remixes of Extremadura songs. Zion Train are a British dub ensemble that formed in Oxford, 1988. They have consistently released music and toured from 1992 to present day. Their mix of reggae and dance music was a notable innovation in the early 1990s. Co-founder Neil Perch is an autodidact, he taught himself music production and composition after completing a master's degree in biochemistry in the mid eighties. When it was originally released in 1994, Zion Train's third album must have sounded much more strange and novel than it does today, when reggae and ethnoworldbeat dance music have become so globally intertwined. As it is, the remastered version reissued in 2006 sounds perfectly contemporary, and if the Inuit album art and liner notes focusing whimsically on ancient political and religious history complete with reading list are a little bit befuddling, well, just focus on the beats.
