Having two guitar players and two drummers, an extra effort was needed to get things ready and have everything recorded with a 16-track recorder. However, things were made difficult by the band themselves as they brought in two new members last-minute saxophonist Rudolph Juicy Carter and harmonica player Thom Doucette. And that additional performance from June 27 was, in fact, the last show ever performed at Fillmore East. As the venue was being closed, Edgar Winter, The Beach Boys, Country Joe McDonald, and The Allman Brothers Band were all invited to do this one final concert.
