Album

Tripper is the debut album by the Danish group Efterklang. The name of the album according to member Thomas Humser refers to two things. One meaning is that tripper is the slang term for a traveler. It is also a Danish meaning for shuffling one's feet in anticipation of something good to happen. The album cover was done by Marie Hill and is literally a mashing of doodle she drew. The logo of the child dancing next to the band's name apparently is supposed to represent the childlike approach to this. Tripper was Efterklang's ambitious debut album, originally released in 2004. The album whispers like thunder, combining transcendent melodies with glacial strings and piano, febrile electronics, hushed male-female vocals and a Greenlandic choir. A year in the making, the album is intense and dramatic intimate yet coolly detached. More info: 2040CD. released October 25, 2004. Efterklang take that hush and decorate it with male and female vocals, whispered so as to not awake the sleeping glaciers. Barely perceivable electronic cells sit near absolute zero, as if left frozen on the ice banks of Mars. You can even hear the melodic sound of you breath's water molecules crystallizing to ice inside your nose. Efterklang performing Step Aside at Melkweg Amsterdam on 13 January . Band Name Efterklang. Текст песни: Sleepy I must have sat, sleepy I sat Get to the note and get your hands out Dive, we fall and sail flat into the noise Rivers in time, stick to the line, sticky eyelid, is the debut full-length by the 10-piece Danish ensemble Efterklang, a band whose name translates literally to after-noise but more loosely to reverberation or remembrance. All of these translations are in one way or another appropriate descriptors for the wondrous music created by the group, which settles beautifully into an open area somewhere between the elegant minimalist orchestrations of Max Richter, the electronically-enhanced chamber music of Rachel's albums like SystemsLayers, and the more contemplative moments of Godspeed You Black E
