Album
My Way is an album by American singer Frank Sinatra, released in 1969 on his own Reprise label. The album is mainly a collection of then-contemporary pop songs, such as Simon and Garfunkel's Mrs. Robinson, and The Beatles' Yesterday, French songs such as If You Go Away, and the anthemic title song My Way, which effectively became Sinatra's theme song in this stage of his career. My Way, released in 1969, is a studio album Frank Sinatra released under Reprise Records. My Way is Sinatra's fifty-sixth studio album. The album, arranged by Don Costa, features some of the time's most famous hits such as Watch What Happens, For Once in My Life, Yesterday, and the title song, My Way. My Way later became one of Sinatra's concert staples and became a pseudo theme song for Sinatra. If Sinatra doesn't quite pull off the R&B of Hallelujah, I Love Her So, he does sing the light Latin stylings of A Day in the Life of a Fool beautifully, and he has fun with Paul Simon's Mrs. Robinson, changing the lyrics dramatically so they become a tongue-in-cheek, swinging hipster tribute. For that matter, most of the record is successful in creating a middle ground between the traditional pop Sinatra loves and the contemporary poprock that dominated the charts in the late '60s. My Way is Frank Sinatra's most popular song ever. Written by Paul Anka, released by Reprise Records in 1969, in My Way album. It then became the title song for Sinatras 1969 Reprise Album, My Way. My Way was not a worldwide hit when it first came out, but as Frank Sinatra got older, and as Sinatras fans got older, My Way became much more important. Though it was Frank Sinatras signature song, also called as the national anthem , Sinatra himself never liked the song, but he also did not hate My Way as much as he hated Strangers In The Night. According to the My Way Songfacts, this originated as French song called Comme D'habitude translation: As Usual by Claude Francois. The French version tells the story of a man, living the end of his marriage, love killed by the boredom of everyday life. Paul Anka discovered this song while visiting France, and re-wrote the lyrics as My Way. Upon returning to the US, he gave it to Frank Sinatra, and it became one of his signature songs
