The Gin Blossoms' debut EP Up & Crumbling is an appealing five-song slice of jangly power-pop, filled with ringing hooks and sweet melodies. Since two of the songs including Alison Road wound up on their full-length debut New Miserable Experience and a couple others became B-sides, its value has decreased somewhat, but it remains an engaging listen. According to the band's official website, the band recorded Up and Crumbling on their own in hopes of rekindling the spark from Dusted that had been missing from the recent recordings.
