The Mountain Ghost' is a forty-minute long concept album consisting of four tracks that follow the fictitious tale of a spirit who inflicts torment on the residents of a village that lies in the shadow of his mountainous home. KYLVER Pronounced: Kil-ver are a four piece instrumental progressive rockmetal band that have crafted their take on the progressive genre by mixing slow doom riffs, odd time signatures, atmospherics of post-rock and Hammond tones of the 70s with a classic rock and metal sound. The plans for Kylver were first made in late 2013 with bassist James Bowmaker, guitarist Jonny Scott and organist Neil Elliott laying out the foundations of what would become their debut album in-between other projects. In the summer of 2016 Kylver headed back in to the studio to record their second album The Island. Kylver was definitely up to the task, and with their latest record, they performed exponentially better than I couldve ever imagined. Luckily for those of us who were interested in knowing the story behind The Island , the band was kind enough to post the entire plot of the Bandcamp page for this album so that we can first read the tale then follow the soundscapes through this world of wonder and science fiction that becomes so much more when its just sound telling. the tale
