This track is off the album Lekker Kitaar, released in 1975. It was issued as a double album bundled with a classic boeremusiek album, Sakkie Sakkie Met Oom Sakkie, and was exclusive to the OK Bazaars. It was obviously targeted at the Afrikaans population, as the title of Trevor's album was in Afrikaans although there is not a single Afrikaans track on the album. Lekker Sakkie. South African. Lekker means awesome and Sakkie is a kind of South African dance. Brief narrative on Sakkie Van Der Merwe: Sakkie grew up in a musical family. His mother, Millie Grobler, as a youngster, sang as a duo known as the Maanlig Singers, with her sister Susie. Susie later married the well-known Chris Van Wyngaardt, releasing several albums. The Van Der Merwe children showed interest in music from a young age, dreaming of releasing albums, like their mother. Sakkie impressed many with his music and was a well-known and respected musician within the Boeremusiek circles. Sakkie also had an excellent voice, and can be heard on Millies 1966 album, Herinnerings Aan Moeder En Vader, featuring his superb speaking voice on seven of the tracks.
