Queen Adam Lambert The Rhapsody Tour at Madison Square Garden in NYC on August 6, is the second album by the hard rock band Michael Schenker Group. The band was formed in 1979 by the former Scorpions and UFO guitarist Michael Schenker. Producer Ron Nevison's high production values resulted in the recording of this album going over budget, a crippling debt that dogged the band for the rest of their short career. Though the band at the time had reservations about the recording, it is regarded by fans as perhaps their finest hour. The MSG stop marked both the Roses only U. appearance of 2016 and their first time in New York since 1995. Although many East Coast fans probably traveled to Coachella to catch the group in 2013, as the newly reformed Manchester foursome began making the festival rounds, Thursdays performance had the feel of a long-overdue homecoming. Not surprisingly, the Roses stuck closely to their first album, playing all 11 songs on the original tracklist plus Fools Gold, the gelatinous slab of wah-wah-dappled dance-rock that landed as a standalone single in 1989, forever linking the group to the Madchester scene in their hometown. Queen first charted in the UK with their second album, Queen II, in 1974. Sheer Heart Attack later that year and A Night at the Opera in 1975 brought them international success. The latter featured Bohemian Rhapsody, which stayed at number one in the UK for nine weeks and helped popularise the music video format. The band's 1977 album News of the World contained We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions, which have become anthems at sporting events. By the early 1980s, Queen were one of the biggest stadium rock bands in the world. Queens debut album had performed modestly and their sophomore, titled Queen II , had only been delivered to American record stores just three days earlier about one month after its U. So, they were still, by and large, unknowns in the new world. That meant Queen was effectively starting from scratch as they stormed the stage at Denver's Regis College, a conservative Jesuit institution, in an effort to change this state of affairs - one show, and even one fan, at a time.
