Y Not is the 16th studio album by Ringo Starr, released on 12 January 2010 on the UMe and Hip-O Records labels. Peace Dream features former Beatle Paul McCartney on bass another Beatle, John Lennon is referenced in the song. The Other Side of Liverpool is about Starr's pre-Beatles days in Liverpool. Starr duets with Joss Stone on closing track Who's Your Daddy. Ringo is the third studio album by English musician Ringo Starr, released in 1973 on Apple Records. It peaked at No. 7 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and has been certified platinum by the RIAA. In Canada, it reached No. 1 on the RPM national albums chart. The album is noted for being the only project on which all four Beatles collaborated between the band's breakup in 1970 and the murder of John Lennon in 1980 though they didn't all work on the project simultaneously at any. Ringo Starr defined his solo career through his collaborations, scoring his first big hit with the assistance of his fellow Fabs and later sustaining himself through his All-Starr Band, so his decision to produce 2010s Y Not on his own appears to be a big deal. Ringo 2012 cannot help but recall the title of another classic album by Starr, 1973s Ringo - in fact, Ringo 2012 features a startlingly new and improved version of Step Lightly from the massively successful Ringo, as well as Wings from 1978s Ringo The 4th. Y NOT, Ringos 16th studio album, met with immediate acclaim: Billboard called the collection some of his best and most poignant songs in years while Rolling Stone said Y Not is full of straightforward, sweetly melodic tunes, most of them about Starrs abiding optimism. As of press time the confirmed dates include . Ringo Starr grabbed a little help from his friends for his new album Y Not, due January 12th, 2010. The Beatles drummer will be joined by his Fab Four bandmate Paul McCartney on a couple of tracks, including first single Walk With Me, which finds Macca and Starr sharing vocals.
