Album

A Lethal Dose of American Hatred is the second studio album by heavy metal band Superjoint Ritual. Former touring only bassist Hank Williams III is featured on this album. Nearly every song begins with a count-in by vocalist Phil Anselmo. Waiting for the Turning Point and Stealing a Page or Two From Armed & Radical Pagans are finished versions of the two bonus demos released on their first album, Use Once and Destroy. A Lethal Dose of American Hatred was the band's last full-length studio album. Songs in album Superjoint Ritual - A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred 2003. Superjoint Ritual - Sickness. It was followed by A Lethal Dose of American Hatred just one year later. Superjoint Ritual - A Lethal Dose Of American Hatred 2003. Note one of Superjoint Ritual's A Lethal Dose of American Hatred greets your ears like a steel-tipped boot does a mud puddle. From this satisfying splat, to the looped, warped finale of Absorbed, it's obvious that the band cares as much for studio gloss as they do about being polite a typically subtle lyric: I want to kill your familyI want to kill your god. While it was recorded in a New Orleans studio with Dave Fortman, the album's flat, dirty sound is in the red all the way through, and visceral as hell. When its all said and done, A Lethal Dose of American Hatred is something I can see both Superjoint Ritual fans and fans of the sludge genre getting into. If you liked the first album, you'll probably like this one too since not much has changed except the superior songwriting and sound quality. Unfortunately, it turns out that Superjoint Ritual is average, being generous, and while this album has good moments, it simply doesn't possess anywhere near the quality of either of the bands I mentioned earlier. The album is flawed by slower sections which kill off the energy which most of the songs build up, and repetition of the faster catchier sections. For those of you who have never heard of Superjoint Ritual, it is one of Phil Aneslmos ex Pantera vocalist side projects. This album, A Lethal Dose of American Hatred, was released in 2003 and is their second full-length album. There are a few things one should know about SJR. They are not exactly like Pantera. Although Pantera was brutal sounding, Superjoint Ritual seems to have brutality on their main focus list. Their music is very aggressive and full of adrenalin, but in a different way than Pantera. SJRs musical hostility is more unrelenting and thrashy, similarly to bands like Slayer. Download MP3. MP3 320Kbps
