The Coldstream Guards Band was one of the very first British army bands to make a recording before World War I. On 18 June 1944 over one hundred twenty people were killed in the chapel at Wellington Barracks when a German flying bomb hit the chapel. In 2018 the state trumpeters of The Band of The Household Cavalry performed a specially-written fanfare for the arrival at Blenheim Palace of the President of the United States, where he was welcomed by Theresa May who was the Prime Minister at the time. The Countess of Wessexs String Orchestra provided musical accompaniment at the Banquet.
