The Twelfth Album is an alternative history short story by Stephen Baxter, first published in Interzone in April 1998. It is about an imaginary twelfth album recorded by the Beatles, called God. The album features songs that were written and recorded as solo projects by the group's members in reality, but in a parallel universe where the Beatles did not split up following the release of Let It Be, resulting in these songs being recorded by the group. Where the first three recordings across the first two records aim at the construction of blossoming soundscapes, the final two explore the deconstructive nuts and bolts of the Dunedinites' sound. This Century Sucks' sits as closely to the aesthetics of power electronics as anything in The Dead C ouvre more arrhythmic than the other recordings. The Dead C was formed in 1986 in Dunedin, New Zealand by guitaristvocalist Michael Morley, ex-Verlaines drummer Robbie Yeats, and guitaristvocalist Bruce Russell, who also ran the Xpressway label. Live album Repent surfaced in 1996 and the following year the band issued sixth album Tusk. The four-LP live box set The Twelfth Spectacle was issued by Grapefruit Records in 2014. A limited 7 single titled Palisades was released by I Dischi Del Barone in 2015.
