Mercer Ellington, as leader of what was left of Duke's Orchestra, has his ensemble play nine Christmas songs, four of which have vocals by Anita Moore. Although the group has such fine players as bassist Ron Carter, altoist Kenny Garrett before he joined Miles Davis, trumpeters Barrie Lee Hall and Joe Wilder and trombonist Britt Woodman, little significant occurs.
