Musically, TMA3 drifts through movements of droning chords more formlessly than a lot of my other dedicated drone work. The runtimes are immense, there are no basslines to anchor you to anything melodic, and there aren't a whole lot of sounds used in the first place. It is complete, abject isolationist music, cosmic opera stretched out across light years, hurling silently through the void. Even as large and long as these pieces are, I recall thinking at the time that if physical formats allowed it, even these would grow to greater sizes.
