Not So Quiet on the Western Front is a punk rock and hardcore punk compilation double LP, compiled by Maximum Rocknroll and released by Alternative Tentacles in 1982. It documented the Northern California and Nevada punk scenes. It was re-released on CD in 1999. Intensified Chaos by Intensified Chaos 0:56. Their Mistakes by Social Unrest 2:26. Dan with the Mellow Hair by Naked Lady Wrestlers 2:20. Holocaust by . Rich Plastic People by Killjoy 1:44. A compilation album originally released in 1982 by Alternative Tentacles with various hardcorepunk rock bands. Intensified Chaos - Intensified. Not all the bands are Class A material, but these songs - even the badly recorded ones like Maniax and Demented Youth - are so memorable and the album flows so well. And let us not forget that fabulous zine that comes with it. Along with Flex Your Head and Welcome To 1984, this is one of my favorite comps of all time. Alternative Tentacles 1982 offering Not So Quiet On The Western Front offered a whopping 46 tunes documenting the Northern California and Nevada punk scene. The collection has aged amazingly well and today is regarded as an integral snapshot of a time before the underground became overcrowded. Berkeley, Californias Crucifix opens with a barrage of D-beat tantrums peppered with anarchistic lyrics.
