Director is Yonatan Gat's debut full-length studio-album released in 2015 on Joyful Noise Recordings. Gal Lazer plays drums, and Sergio Sayeg is on bass. The album was recorded live by Chris Woodhouse Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees in less than 3 days during a US tour. According to Gat, the band went into the studio with just a few songs and ideas. Though effectively composed of hours upon hours of mixed-down, in-studio improvisations spliced together with field recordings that Gat had taken during his. High-octane experimental guitarist Yonatan Gat-once of the incendiary Israeli trio Monotonix-took his band into the studio during their U. Guitarist Yonatan Gat went solo when Monotonix broke up, and his approach to recording with his own music has proven more engaging that his previous band's frozen output. Gat's mostly instrumental tunes bring his part of Monotonix's furious energy into a much more improvised realm, playing with small ensembles and offering up burning solos that owe as much to rock gods like Hendrix and Zappa as they do to '60s tropicalia and other lost Brazilian psychedelia. More Yonatan Gat albums. Here, Gat and company touch on everything from bossa nova to soukous, Tortoise-style jazz-rock to the head-swimming spazz-outs of Ponytail. In the much-missed Monotonix, guitarist Yonatan Gat was the anchor, but his music since is clearly the product of a frenzied, restless spirit. Director, 2015. East to West, 05:06. Casino Café, 02:08.
