The Beatles, also known as the White Album, is the ninth studio album and only double album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 22 November 1968. Its plain white sleeve has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed, which was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band's previous LP Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Beatles is recognised for its fragmentary style and diverse range of genres, including folk, British blues, ska, music hall. Track 6 from the Greatest Hits album remasterd lyrics: I read the news today oh boy About a lucky man who made the grade And though the news was Beatles or The White album as it became better known was released on 22nd November, 1968 on the fifth anniversary of their second album, With The Beatles. A total of 34 new tracks were released in 1968 and 30 were contained on this one double-LP. The Beatles' first British album, recorded in one thirteen-hour session, remained number one on the charts for six months. The United States remained uninterested until, one month before the Beatles' arrival, EMI's U. company, Capitol Records, launched an unprecedented never done before fifty thousand dollar promotional campaign. The Beatles' 1965 and 1966 albums Rubber Soul and Revolver marked a turning point in the band's recording history. It contains imaginative melodies and songs about many life experiences, philosophy, and unusual imagery. The Beatles early releases were on the Vee-Jay, Swan and Tollie labels, before EMIs US counterpart, Capitol, sat up and took notice. Unfortunately for The Beatles, Capitol often insisted in dropping certain tracks, reassembling running orders and constructing new releases by economic and judicious use of the songs that were coming from London. The Capitol albums also contained a handful of alternative mixes and instrumental tracks not available anywhere else. Some of these are available on the Capitol Albums volumes, and are worth investigating for anyone interested in variations in tracklis. Album 1973 28 Songs. With music that signified the group's own development as well as the culture around them, this selection of material from albums such as Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road contains some of their most radical studio experiments and most loved songs. From 1962 to 1965, the Beatles made 52 appearances on the BBC, recording live-in-the-studio performances of both their official releases and several dozen songs that they never issued on disc. This magnificent two-disc compilation features 56 of these tracks, including 29 covers of early rock, R&B, soul, and pop tunes that never appeared on their official releases, as well as the Lennon-McCartney original I'll Be on My Way, which they gave in 1963 to Billy J. Kramer rather than record it themselves. The Beatles commonly known as The White Album is the eponymous ninth studio album by English rock band The Beatles. It was first released as a double album on 22 November 1968 in the United Kingdom by Apple Records and on 25 November 1968 in the United States by Capitol Records. Its plain white sleeve has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed on it, which was intended as a direct contrast to the vivid cover artwork of the band's previous album Sgt.
